“Thanks to this port, we gained a gateway to the sea,” remarked Zhanibek Sadykanov, chairman of the Public Association Karaganda Regional Branch of the Union of Journalists of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

For Kazakhstan, the China-Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) Logistics Cooperation Base opens up routes to global markets, enabling the country to both export goods and receive cargo from around the world.

But the connection goes beyond logistics. The visit also reflected the people-to-people ties behind this cooperation. Kazakhstani and Chinese colleagues working across the two countries help foster cultural exchange and strengthen the friendship between the two nations.

From trade links to people-to-people connections, the visit gave the journalists fresh insights into Lianyungang’s role as an open gateway and the way the Belt and Road Initiative brings countries closer.
