Located at the southernmost tip of Gansu province in western China, Wenxian is a mountain county nestled deep in the Qinling Mountains. For centuries, the surrounding peaks kept this hidden gem largely out of the outside world’s view. Since 1998, the All-China Journalists Association has been involved in local poverty alleviation efforts and has continued to support Wenxian as it moves forward with rural revitalization.
Beyond bringing greater visibility to this once little-known mountain county, media professionals have helped connect local communities with wider resources and opportunities, supporting education, local industries, agricultural development and tourism. Through reporting and communication, local products, landscapes and stories have also reached wider audiences, opening up new possibilities for development.
