How do news organizations demonstrate their accountability to the public? More than 680 Chinese news organizations have recently released their 2025 Media Social Responsibility Reports, outlining their work over the past year in areas including public service, editorial responsibility, platform development and social engagement. This marks the 13th consecutive year that China’s media social responsibility reporting mechanism has been implemented.
Journalism is not only about reporting the news, but also about serving the public and building trust. By voluntarily publishing these reports, media organizations have provided greater transparency into their work while highlighting their commitment to public service, constructive reporting and international communication.
