During the German Journalists’ trip to China organized by Home of Journalists, participants gained close-up insights into China from culture and innovation to urban development and everyday life. Several German media professionals noted that when people truly enter a society and engage in first-hand observation, preconceptions are often replaced by more immediate and lived experiences. They also emphasized that direct observation in journalism plays an important role in understanding different societies and promoting more objective reporting as well as cross-cultural understanding.
From culture to innovation, the trip offered German journalists a closer look at China while showing how firsthand observation and real-world interaction can foster deeper understanding between different countries and societies. Click to hear journalists share their impressions from China.
