“Studying China doesn’t mean copying it — it means understanding it. Understanding its planning mechanisms, its industrial policy, its active diplomacy, and its capacity for large-scale execution. It means observing how a country managed to align economic growth with reduced inequality, technological advancement, cultural preservation, and environmental transition,” wrote Moacyr de Oliveira Filho, Director of Journalism at the Brazilian Press Association (ABI), after recently joining a delegation of Brazilian journalists and scholars to experience the reality of China’s social and technological evolution firsthand.

By engaging with innovation hubs and academic centers, the group gained a deepened understanding of the long-term planning and “green development” shaping the 21st century.

Just as Oliveira Filho noted, “Understanding China may be one of the most important keys for Brazil not only to participate in this future, but to help shape it.”
