For more than four decades, Chinese families have shared a Spring Festival tradition — gathering in front of the TV to watch the Spring Festival Gala, or Chunwan, the biggest annual show of the year. Beyond celebration, the Gala often reflects the social and cultural trends that have shaped China over the past twelve months.
This year, one development stood out in particular: the rapid progress of China’s robotics industry. Humanoid robots, which first caught public attention last year, returned to the stage with noticeably enhanced mobility, performing complex movements such as parkour-style vaults and aerial flips alongside traditional artistic elements.
