As we kick off 2026, Home of Journalists hosted a series of Press Salons under the theme “2026 Development Pulse & Global Compass”, offering international media an overview of China’s key economic and foreign policy priorities for the year ahead.
Across three sessions, guest speakers Zhang Jianping, deputy director of the Academic Committee of Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce, Cui Shoujun, professor at the School of International Studies at Renmin University of China, and Su Jian, professor at the School of Economics at Peking University, each joined around 100 media professionals for discussion and Q&A.
They unpacked China’s key economic development trends and policy outlook for the year ahead, shared perspectives on China’s foreign policy direction amid a shifting international landscape, and explored China’s growth potential and its contributions to the global economy.
Through these conversations, Home of Journalists aims to support journalists around the world in gaining a clearer view of China’s 2026 development pulse and, in turn, a stronger sense of the global compass. China’s economic direction and foreign policy approach continue to serve as an important source of stability in today’s international landscape.
