Journalists see the world from different places, but often carry the same questions, responsibilities, and hopes. At Home of Journalists, we bring together Media Ambassadors — nominated by journalists organizations across BRl countries — who meet each year at the Belt and Road Journalists Forum to share firsthand experiences from the field.
Today, we’re sharing posters featuring reflections from four of our Media Ambassadors. As 2025 comes to a close, they look back on a year shaped by reporting from the front lines and share what continues to guide their work: a commitment to truth, dialogue, and human connection beyond borders. Read the full texts of their New Year messages below, and You’re also welcome to share your own hopes for 2026 with our global journalism community on Home of Journalists Facebook !
1. New Year message from Zhou Jiaxin
CGTN reporter
We stood where history breathed. In tragedies like Mandalay’s deadly earthquake, I saw the quiet resolve of Chinese rescue operations through the night, a tangible echo of humanity across borders. At the victory commemoration parade in downtown Beijing, each formation spoke of a nation’s vow: never again shall peace be taken for granted. In Xinjiang, I walked through bazaars alive with Uyghur melodies and Han dialects interwoven, a living tapestry of co-existence. And in Kuala Lumpur, across the trade negotiation table, I observed not rivalry but the difficult, essential work of rebuilding trust between the two largest economies.
2025 has taught us that our profession is no longer just about recording facts, it is about anchoring truth in an age of echo chambers.
As we turn to 2026, storms gather: the Asia-Pacific’s fragile equilibrium, Gaza’s recurring wounds, a war in Europe with no end in sight. That is why our voice and your voice must carry further. Not as a megaphone for power, but as a bridge for the unheard, a mirror for power, and a lamp for clarity. The stories that will shape tomorrow demand more than accuracy. They require moral courage and intellectual rigor.
The world does not need more noise. It needs conscience. It needs us.
2. New Year message from Silvana Laura Redivo
Journalist, Correspondent and General Producer of Radio Program Clave China, Argentina
3. New Year message from Xu-Pan Yiru
China Daily reporter
Hello, everyone. This has been a year of challenges—conflicts, uncertainty, and an information landscape shaped by algorithms as much as by facts.
To those who continue to report with professionalism, empathy, and courage: your work makes a difference, even when it feels unseen.
In the year ahead, may we stay curious, stay independent, and stay committed to telling stories that build understanding across cultures and borders.
Wishing you strength, clarity, and safe reporting in the year to come.
