2025-11-15

The BRI International Green Development Coalition (BRIGC) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) jointly launched the “Global Call for Green Development Best Practices” during the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) at the UN Pavilion on November 11.

The initiative aims to identify and promote exemplary practices worldwide, providing model cases for green and low-carbon transition.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Paris Agreement. As the global green transition becomes an irreversible trend, the partnership between BRIGC and UNOPS underscores efforts to advance concrete actions within a multilateral framework.

The global climate action has entered a critical phase of delivering on promises and putting into practice, said Jorge Moreira da Silva, Under-Secretary-General of United Nations and Executive Director of UNOPS, adding that the partnership between the two sides will facilitate knowledge sharing and mutual learning from experiences, translating concepts into actionable and replicable outcomes, thereby providing new pathways for global sustainable development.

Ana Toni, CEO of COP30, said that COP30 is committed to promoting political consensus and concrete action, so as to deepen multilateral cooperation. The cooperation between BRIGC and UNOPS aligns closely with the COP30 Action Agenda.

According to Zhao Yingmin, president of BRIGC, the collaboration will boost technology application and financial connectivity, turning green concepts into tangible results.

During the launch ceremony, Brazil’s green supply chain practices were also showcased. Marina Guyot, an expert from Imaflora, hoped that the initiative would serve as an opportunity to extend these practices to a broader South-South cooperation network, setting a benchmark for building sustainable agricultural supply chains globally.

BRIGC is an international, professional and non-profit social organization, which was jointly founded in April 2019 by social organizations, foundations, research institutions and enterprises in the global ecological environment and sustainable development fields.
