During a visit to the Chongqing Planning Exhibition Gallery, Seare Habtemichael Luu, a senior journalist of the Ministry of Information of Eritrea, was among the visitors who expressed high praise for Chongqing’s unique and forward-thinking urban design. Seare highlighted the city’s effective use of bridges, rivers, and well-maintained ecosystems as key elements contributing to its remarkable progress.
Tania Georgieva Glouhtcheva, Head of the International Department at Bulgaria’s DUMA Newspaper, also shared her impressions from the tour. Despite having only five days to explore Chongqing, she was so impressed by the city’s screens showcasing its history and landscapes that she created a to-do list for future visits.
Tania compared Chongqing’s urban planning to Bulgaria’s, noting that while Bulgaria had impressive infrastructure during the communist era, the past 30 years of democracy have significantly declined. She described Chongqing as a future city and expressed hope for increased cooperation between Bulgaria and China. She plans to write detailed reports about her visit to inspire action among Bulgarian politicians.
Benedicto Abaygar Jr., Director of the National Press Club of the Philippines, highlighted the city’s transformation since the 1920s, attributing its futuristic reputation to significant improvements made over the years. Abaygar described Chongqing’s advancements as truly amazing and noteworthy, reflecting the city’s dedication to preserving its natural wonders while fostering economic development.
Another group of journalists visited the Chongqing Inland International Logistics Hub Park and the Chongqing Railway Container Terminal Station, focusing on developing inland open highland construction.
At the Chongqing Inland International Logistics Hub Exhibition Center, the large screen displayed a logistics map showing Chongqing’s connections to various parts of the world, and everyone eagerly looked for their own countries’ locations. During the visit, foreign journalists posed questions one after another: “How many countries and cities are linked here?” “What types of goods can be transported from here?”
Ayman Elkady, Executive Editor-in-Chief, Member of the Editorial Board, and Editor-in-Chief of Cabinet Affairs of the Middle East News Agency, asked, “Is our Egyptian Lifan car shipped from here? Will the export volume increase in the future?” He places great importance on advancing China-Africa’s Belt and Road cooperation. After receiving a positive response, he was very pleased and indicated that this event would be an excellent opportunity to discuss China-Africa cooperation, especially China-Egypt cooperation. He noted that nowadays, not only cars but many products from Egypt are “Made in China,” and he hopes that the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) will further promote China-Egypt cooperation and bring more benefits to the people of both countries.
After the visit, Teguh Santosa, Chairman of the Indonesian Cyber Media Network (Jmsi), was deeply impressed by China’s rapid transportation logistics development. “I think it is one of the best in the world, and I think that we can use this as a strategic point to spread and, at the same time, to develop not only China and our region but also the rest of the world.” He remarked that this is one of the best logistics transformations and that China’s rapid development seems like a miracle to the Indonesian people. China’s reform and opening up over the past few decades have profoundly impacted. Chongqing, an important node of the BRI, is gradually becoming an important window for Indonesians to understand and get to know China.
