The Belt and Road Portal (BRP), China’s official website for the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), on Thursday launched a China-Laos Economic Corridor web page section and signed a memorandum of cooperation with Lao News Agency during the opening ceremony of the second Belt and Road Forum for Laos-China Cooperation held in Vientiane, Laos.

Themed “steadily advancing the construction of China-Laos Economic Corridor and actively promoting the vision of regional connectivity,” the newly-launched section contains eight sectors, each featuring interactions between leaders of both countries, focused news, China-Laos Railway, bilateral connectivity, industrial cooperation, cultural exchanges, green development and industrial parks.

In particular, the sector featuring China-Laos Railway updates latest information of the railway on a rolling basis, demonstrating the strong momentum and new vitality of regional connectivity injected by the landmark project of Belt and Road cooperation.

By focusing on major projects including the Vientiane Saysettha Development Zone and the Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Zone, the sector featuring industrial parks provides dynamic information and case studies of park construction cooperation between China and Laos.

Following the signing of memorandum of cooperation with Lao News Agency, the BRP will work closely with the Lao partner in terms of information exchange related to the construction of China-Laos Economic Corridor, according to Chen Yu, editor-in-chief of the BRP. The two sides will make full use of their channels to release authoritative information, promoting the building of the China-Laos community with a shared future, said Chen.
