Liu Zhengrong, Executive Vice President of the All-China Journalists Association, and Andrey Krivosheev, Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Journalists, signed the journalism exchange cooperation agreement.

On April 26, the Signing Ceremony of the China-Belarus Journalism Exchange Agreement & China-Belarus Journalists Exchange Meeting were held online. Liu Zhengrong, Executive Vice President of the All-China Journalists Association, and Andrey Krivosheev, Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Journalists, signed the journalism exchange cooperation agreement. Tian Yuhong, Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the All-China Journalists Association, moderated the event.

The event was attended by representatives from the State Council Information Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, China’s Embassy in Belarus, the Lower House of the Belarusian Parliament, the Embassy of Belarus in China, and the China-Belarus Industrial Park as well as Chinese and Belarusian journalists.

Xie Xiaoyong, Chinese Ambassador to Belarus, attended the event and made a speech.

Xie Xiaoyong, Chinese Ambassador to Belarus, said in his speech that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Belarus. Under the strategic guidance and support of President Xi Jinping and President Lukashenko, the relations between the two countries have maintained a good momentum with fruitful results in the cooperation in various fields. Today, the journalist organizations of our two countries signed an exchange agreement and jointly hold the online event, which will bring new development opportunities for the journalism exchanges and cooperation between our two countries.

Belarusian Ambassador to China Senko Yury attended the event and made a speech.

Belarusian Ambassador to China Senko Yury said that practical media cooperation is an important part of China-Belarus strategic partnership. The signing of the journalism exchange and cooperation agreement between the Belarusian Union of Journalists and the All-China Journalists Association is another important measure to consolidate the ties between our two countries, promote the development of the journalism sector of China and Belarus, and enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples. He expressed his wish that the bilateral cooperation will yield more results that will benefit both Belarus and China!

Both Liu Zhengrong and Andrey Krivosheev said the two countries’ journalism associations will take the signing of the agreement as an opportunity to further deepen the journalism exchange and cooperation, and extensively gather the consensus and strengths of the press of the two countries to jointly promote the Belt and Road Journalists Network, contributing to the building of the China-Belarus community with a shared future and the prosperity of both countries with more pragmatic and effective measures.

The agreement includes mutual visits and exchanges between the two journalists organizations, forums and seminars, training for journalists, and mutual support and assistance.

Kirill Koroteev, First Deputy General-Manager of the China-Belarus Industrial Park, attended the event and made a speech.

After the signing ceremony, representatives of journalists from People’s Daily, Xinhua News Agency, China Central Radio and Television Station, and China Daily conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges with their Belarusian counterparts around the theme of “deepening journalism exchanges and cooperation to jointly build the China-Belarus community with a shared future”.
