National Federation of Italian Press (FNSI)

The National Federation of the Italian Press (FNSI) was established in 1908. It is a national-level unitary trade union of Italian journalists. It is committed to defending journalism ethics from professionalism to implementation of such ethics.

The main purposes of the FNSI include: defending freedom of the press and the rights to report; ensuring the plurality of the media; protecting the public’s right to access information and their inviolable right to freedom of speech guaranteed by the Constitution; upholding solidarity of the press and opposing discrimination for any purposes; stipulating national collective labor agreements on behalf of journalists; and protecting gender equality and the dignity of journalists.
