The Moroccan Federation of Newspaper Publishers (FMEJ) is an organization of executives of newspapers and journals. It aims to defend the rights and interests of news organizations, protect the freedom of the press and promote industry experience.
The FMEJ was founded in 2002, bringing together 125 members representing newspapers and electronic media. Fifteen years ago, it signed a news industry upgrading project contract with the government, involving subsidies of nearly USD 10 million.
The FMEJ also signed a collective labor agreement with the National Journalists’ Union. In the past two decades, the FMEJ has played an indispensable role in the development of journalism in Morocco.
