The National union of journalists of Ukraine (NUJU)

The National union of journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) is the biggest organization, which brings together journalists and other employee of the mass media in Ukraine. The union is an independent public non-profit organization.

NUJU has over 19,000 members and has regional agencies in all regions of Ukraine. The president is Sergiy Tomilenko since 2017. In 2019 Sergiy Tomilenko was elected as a member of the Steering Committee European Federation of Journalists.

The union actively participates in the preparation of changes in the Ukrainian media-law, provides legal support for journalistic activities, co-organizer of different forums, festivals, promotions, press tours, seminars, etc.

NUJU cooperates and communicates with many professional media organizations in the world, concludes agreements with them on cooperation in the field of professional activity, exchange of information, establishment of journalistic exchanges .

Also, the union cooperates with Ukrainian state structures and institutions (State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting, Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information Policy of the Parliament of Ukraine), public associations and charitable foundations.
