Latvian Journalist Union (established in 1959) is the biggest Latvian Journalist trade union (more than 300 members with affiliates). Latvian Journalist Union is a politically neutral trade union for Latvian and Russian language journalists of the Latvian media.
Latvian Journalist Union members are mainly national level printed (newspapers and magazines) media journalists. Latvian TV and radio journalists have separate trade unions, as well as Latvian bloggers have own organization.
Latvian Journalist Union is organizing annual awards competition to choose the best publications and press photos of the year.
