The Tunisian Federation of Newspaper Managers ( Federation Tunisienne des Directeurs de Journaux, FTDJ) was founded in 1962. Its main objectives are:
-To defend freedom of information, opinion, creativity, expression and the right of access to information
-To promote the Tunisian press in all its forms and to safeguard its material and moral interests in the service of the democratic process
-Defending the honor of the profession, controlling its demands and negotiating with the concerned authorities to achieve them
-Maintenance of the profession and work on its prosperity
-Defining the written press as being at the same time those printed on paper as well as those published on websites
-Negotiate with professional unions to improve the performance of workers and journalists
-Establishing equal international relations with similar organizations through exchange of visits and experiences
