The Foreign Correspondents’ Club of South Asia, New Delhi (FCC)

Established 61 years ago in New Delhi, the FCC is a prestigious Club of a thousand foreign and Indian journalists and other media-related professions. Based in the Indian capital, they cover India and other South Asian countries for the world’s leading newspapers, magazines, and radio and television networks.

The FCC invites prominent personalities from politics, government, diplomacy and the arts as well as visiting dignitaries and authors from across the globe for discussions, seminars etc. on current affairs at its state-of-the-art FCC Auditorium. They interact with FCC members, followed by lively Question-and-Answer sessions.

The events are webcast live on FACEBOOK LIVE, and uploaded on the website (http://www.fccsouthasia.com), YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Telegram. They are widely covered by Indian newspapers and TV networks.

Recent visitors included the Foreign Ministers of Cuba and the Maldives, media delegations from the All China Journalists Association, Afghanistan and Indian Ocean Rim countries, Ambassadors of Afghanistan, Bhutan, Brazil, Mexico, Nepal, Cuba, Argentina, Vietnam, and High Commissioners of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Rwanda etc.

In 2019, the FCC introduced Annual Awards for Excellence in Journalism, presented to journalists whose coverage of India and South Asia is adjudged as the best from the press, television, photojournalism, online journalism etc from the world over. Each award carries a cash prize of 1,00,000 Indian Rupees, a trophy and a medal.

On an average, an event or discussion or seminar is organized once in every ten days. The FCC is rated as one of the most active clubs of its kind in the whole of South Asia.
