The Egyptian Journalists Syndicate (EJS) was established in 1941. Over 80 years, the Syndicate carries out major national professional roles. The Syndicate includes all journalists working in the field of journalism, accredits them, organizes work in the journalism profession, and sets the scientific and practical standards necessary for the practice of journalism.
The Egyptian Journalists Syndicate is fully independent, and its work is regulated by a law of its own. It is run by the Council of the Syndicate, a board elected every two years by the members of the Syndicate.
